London Shambhala statement on US racist murder of George Floyd

The London Shambhala Meditation Centre condemns the racist murder of George Floyd by white US police officers, as well as the murders of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, and numerous other black people who have died in police custody worldwide. We stand with people across the world calling for an end to ingrained racism and violence. We acknowledge that while institutional racism may look different in the UK it is nonetheless a powerful force. We are committed to addressing these systemic issues and embrace the responsibility to strengthen the culture of diversity and inclusion within Shambhala and in society at large.

“In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist” – Angela Davis
