The London Shambhala Meditation Centre is not an ordinary training institution or club. Here, we come together to discover how to build a society based on principles of basic goodness and sanity. If you feel inspired by this, then join us as a member.

As a member of the London Shambhala Meditation Centre you take on three main responsibilities:

Practice
The authenticity of our community comes from our commitment to discovering our own wakeful sanity. We do this through a regular meditation practice.

As a member you also have the opportunity to join the regular practice of the Shambhala Sadhana. Composed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche as a way to celebrate and strengthen our understanding of basic goodness and enlightened society, this practice is usually only available to those who have attended Enlightened Society Assembly.

Financial
The stability of our community comes from the monthly donations we all make to cover the centre’s running costs. The amount is at your discretion and varies according to your means. What is important is that rather than merely paying for a service, we are supporting something that is an important part of our lives.

All members are asked to give a monthly membership donation to the London Shambhala Meditation Centre, which is a registered charity. The suggested amount is £1 each month for every £1,000 that you earn each year. For example, if your salary or gross income is £30,000 per year, then you would give about £30 per month.

Participation
The London Shambhala Meditation Centre relies on the energy of its members to help run weekend and evening programmes, welcome new visitors to the centre, and generally help with the running of the Centre. Working together, we discover and demonstrate enlightened society. As a member of the London Shambhala Centre you are asked to volunteer your time and skills as you feel inspired to.
