Mindful Parenting

Mindfulness has fast become popular in recent years and has become the fabric of many peoples lives, in this course we translate the teachings to develop our family relationships. Mindfulness can nourish us as parents and greatly benefit our family lives. It can help us to reduce stress, speed and destructive behaviour; enable us to disengage from emotionally-charged stimuli; and support us to be fully present for our children.
In these sessions we will practice some simple mindfulness techniques and will explore how these practices can be brought into family life.  We’ll introduce mindfulness of everyday activities that can help us enjoy our moments with our children. We’ll also explore practices which help us to open and soften in difficult circumstances, and to handle those moments when our children are challenging.

Debbie is a long time practitioner of the Shamabhala teachings and has developed her career over 9 years teaching Mindfulness to the general public, families, and runs corporate workshops and one to one coaching and counselling.
She trained for 4 years at Bangor University and gained an MA in teaching Mindfulness. She is now studying at Oxford University taking masterclasses developing mindfulness for the workplace.
