Mindful Walking

Mindfulness is not just something we can do on a meditation cushion – pretty much any activity can be done with a sense of being present and fully alive to the experience. We are occasionally hosting mindful walks – an opportunity to explore some of the more beautiful parts of the city and appreciate their beauty with our sense perceptions fully engaged. We will spend some time in silence, and of course will also have the chance to have mindul conversation and enjoy each others company.

Mindful walk in Richmond Park
This circular walk will take about 1.5-2 hours and pass along little-used paths in the quietest, wildest part of the park. The highlight is the annual spectacle of amazing hot saturated colours of azaleas and rhododendrons in Isabella Plantation. There is also the chance to admire deer, owls, hawks and anything else we come across. There’s an optional coffee stop on the way back.
Meet: Robin Hood gate (NB pedestrian gate; there is a car park but motorists will have to enter by Roehampton Gate or Kingston Gate). Pedestrians take the 85 bus to Kingston from Putney Bridge Station (District Line) or Putney rail station and get off at Robin Hood Lane.
