Open Evening and Drop-in Meditation Sessions – regular information

“When the mind is totally present, it is relaxed, nimble, and sensitive. It feels lighter and clearer. It notices everything, but it is not distracted by anything. It is the feeling of knowing exactly where you are and what you are doing.” Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

The following sessions are donation based, and are open to beginners as well as experienced meditators. There is always a trained meditation guide available at these sessions.

Beginners’ Meditation (highly recommended for beginners and those new to Shambhala)

Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:45-9:00 pm (tea served from 7:15pm)

An opportunity to learn the basics of meditation from highly experienced teachers and instructors.

Drop-in Meditation Sessions

Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:45-9:00 pm (tea served from 7:15pm)

Open meditation sessions for anyone that has attended a guided meditation session or class at the centre.

Ziji – Young Meditators Group (ages 18-30’s)

1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings of the month, 7:00-9:00 pm (see Monthly Calendar for dates).

Learn meditation, engage in open discussion and socialise with like-minded people.

Sunday Morning Monthly Sitting

First Sunday every month, 9:30am – 12:30pm

An opportunity to engage in deep practice. These sessions will begin with morning chants to set our aspiration for the session and will close with Maitri Bhavana – a traditional practice for developing compassion for others. Open to everyone who has either received meditation instruction or has their own established practice.

All of these will provide an excellent introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation. If you feel inspired to engage in more comprehensive and ongoing training in using the practice of meditation for personal transformation, then we offer a progressively more advanced series of evening and weekend courses and retreats.
