Early registration is advised - we anticipate this course will be fully booked. An early bird registration fee of £110 is available until the 26th May
Shambhala offers a series of weekend retreats suitable for anyone interested in the practice of meditation as a way to develop fearlessness, confidence, openness, and gentleness towards ourselves and our world. Intensive practice over the course of a weekend is a very powerful way to strengthen your meditation and your motivation to develop a regular personal practice.
What is this course about?
In The Art of Being Human we see unconditional goodness as the basis of our existence, through the practice of meditation. As we relate with our own experience with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings.
Meditation is presented as an opportunity to rest in what you already are — basic goodness, natural peace and clarity. It is how we train in being awake, placing the mind on the breath, in the present moment.
Through the simple, regular practice of sitting meditation, you learn to develop friendship with your mind, skill in how to work with speed and difficulty, and a sense of humour. Slowly you can let the mind relax within itself, and let go of struggling with yourself.
What is involved?
Every Shambhala retreat weekend includes:
- Detailed and regular meditation instruction
- Periods of meditation practice
- Individual support and advice
- Talks on what we can discover through meditation
- Opportunities to ask question
- Group discussion activities
