True Command - Public Talk

with Shastri Simon La Haye

July 28th

    Room: London meditation hall

Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the founder of Shambhala, was a teacher of extraordinary creativity, outrageousness and humour. One of his more surprising and brilliant creations was the Dorje Kasung - an integral part of Shambhala and a path of meditation in action with its own unique teachings and practices, some of which draw on military forms such as uniforms, drill and mess. These teachings and practices are rooted in the tradition of the dharmapala principle. In Tibetan Buddhism the dharmapalas protect truth and enlightened activity.

In this evening talk Simon la Haye will share anecdotes and stories from the book True Command about the origins of the Dorje Kasung and their wild early days. True Command shows how Trungpa Rinpoche used any situation or event in daily life as an opportunity to wake up to the richness of the world and shows us how to do the same.
