"Through the practice of meditation, we discover that goodness, strength, and wisdom are inherent in our own mind and being.  Having gained this insight, we are able to maneuver through life with courage, intelligence, and compassion.  Daily life becomes an opportunity to further cultivate these qualities. "
                                          -Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

Contentment in Everyday Life is a 5-week course offering experiential training in contentment, as well as an exploration of the obstacles or challenges to experiencing simplicity, gentleness and mindfulness in everyday life. The course responds with practical suggestions to the question "How can I bring the contentment of meditation into my everyday life?"

This is the second of our 'Way of Shambhala' meditation training courses, and so is open to beginners as well as those with previous training in mindfulness and meditation Each evening will include: Meditation instruction, interactive exercises, meditation practice and a talk on the key theme.

Class topics:

Class 1: Introducing Contentment: "Friendliness towards yourself"
Class 2: Contemplating Contentment: "Nowness"
Class 3: Suffering & The Four Noble Truths: "Meeting Suffering with Gentleness"
Class 4: Working with Emotions & Buddhist Psychology
Class 5: The Confidence of Contentment

You will receive a source-book and a copy of 'Ruling your World' by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. It is strongly recommended you read these as the course progresses. In order to benefit fully from the course you should be able to make a commitment to practise regularly during the week between classes.
