“We can summarize the four boundless qualities in the single phrase 'a kind heart.' Just train yourself to have a kind heart, always and in all situations.” Patrul Rinpoche, ‘The Words of my Perfect Teacher’.

The Friday evening talk is open to all - attendance is free

Sometimes we find that our capacity to extend kindness and love to others can feel limited or blocked. It can be hard to let go of our own agenda, and see things from the other person’s point of view. This affects our personal relationships and can lead us to feel defensive and less open to others than we want to be. Meditation does wonders for increasing our awareness of this tendency, but does not necessarily help us to overcome it.

Through training in the 'Bodhicitta' practices of Mahayana Buddhism, we can immerse our mind fully in the qualities of kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. This leads naturally to a more open and benevolent way of living. We all want happiness and freedom from suffering for ourselves, and our loved ones. It begins with friendliness and curiosity toward ourselves and our own experience, and extends to encompass all beings everywhere.

There are no pre-requisites for this course, it is open to all!
