A weekend with David Hope, on the powerful Four Reminders.

The Four Reminders are a traditional Buddhist teaching that gives us powerful and inspiring reasons to follow the path of meditation.  They are tremendously valuable when we loose heart, lack motivation to keep practising, or forget why we started to do so in the first place.  The reminders help us vividly understand four vital questions -

1.  What is the purpose of human life, and why is it so precious?

2.  Why is it important to live in the present moment?

3.  Why should we care how virtuous our actions are?

4.  Why is it so important to follow a path of spiritual practice of some kind?

Acharya David Hope has been a student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche for the past 37 years. He helped establish the London Shambhala Centre in its early days, and has since taught widely in Europe and other countries worldwide.  After living for many years in France near Dechen Chöling, he and his wife, Christina de Block returned to the UK, and now live on the South Coast in Hampshire.
