The Genuine Heart of Sadness - Open House Talk

with Peter Conradi

October 7th

Date details +
    Room: Main meditation hall

The ancient Buddhist text known as the Abidharma makes no mention of either depression or fear ; yet many of us live out our lives well-acquainted with both. The genius of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche led him both to address the topic of depression and to oppose it to what he called Genuine Heart of Sadness. These sound alike, but we will discuss how depression closes us off from the world, while the Genuine Heart of Sadness re-connects us.
