Shambhala London are excited to host a meditation retreat with Anam Thubten and Chakung Jigme Wangdrak Rinpoche. Public Talk: Friday, July 19 Retreat: Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21

Tibetan Buddhism offers rich wisdom on bringing every kind of  situation onto the spiritual path. All the challenges that occur in our lives can be a source of inner growth if we welcome them with an open heart and an enlightened perspective. Chakung Jigme Wangdrak Rinpoche has recently published book entitled “Loving Life As It Is,” which is highly relevant to this retreat. Both teachers will speak about how to nurture the qualities that support these timeless teachings in meditation practice and how to embody these teachings in everyday life.

This programme will take place in person at the London Shambhala Meditation Centre but can also be attended online - Please contact Katrina on [email protected] if you would like to participate remotely.

Anam Thubten grew up in Tibet and at an early age began to practice in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is the founder and spiritual advisor of Dharmata Foundation, teaching widely in the US, Europe and Asia. He is the author of several books, including Embracing Each Moment, No Self, No Problem, and The Citadel of Awareness. Through sharing his wisdom and personal experience on the spiritual path, Anam Thubten brings alive the timeless teachings of Buddhism.

Chakung Jigme Wangdrak Rinpoche was born in the Golok region of Eastern Tibet as the fourth descendant of the great Tibetan master Dudjom Lingpa, one of the foremost spiritual masters of 19th Century Tibet. At the age of 15, he was recognized as the reincarnation of Rigzin Longsel Nyingpo by Choktrul Tamdrin Wangyel. He attended Larung Gar Monastery and studied Buddhist teachings in great depth. These included Sutra and Tantra as well as Dzogchen pith instructions and empowerments with Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok.

Rinpoche currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2014 Rinpoche founded The Abhaya Fellowship, a Buddhist community dedicated to keeping the Nyingma lineage of the Dudjom Tersar alive.
